The Exhibition Hall of the SUNA & INAN KIRAÇ KALEIÇI MUSEUM
is the Aya Yorgi (Saint George) Church, considered to be one of the cultural assets
with monumental qualities inside the Old City of Antalya. It is covered with a
single -space vault over a rectangular plan and its general reflects the typical
characteristic of Mediterranean architecture. Although its construction date is
unknown, an inscription indicates that a major restoration was carried out in
1863. But the building again decayed. This structure was acquired by Suna &
Inan KIRAÇ and restored by the architect Dr. M. Sinan Genim between 1993 and 1995.
Rendered back to its original state the building's interior and the ceiling symbolizing
heaven are adorned by fine brushwork decorations in different shades of blue.
Now, concerts and cultural activities are held and various
works of art selected from Suna & Inan Kirac Collection are exhibited in this
pleasant setting.
